A lot of people have a New Years Resolutions with the idea in mind that this year will be different. For some of you, that’s exactly what will happen in 2019. However; for 90% of people, it’s just a big hype to start fresh. For me; I find New Years as a time to reflect on our own personal growth as an individual. When I look back exactly one year ago, I was a completely different person with a complete different set of skills. As the months went past, the neverending evolution of the cinematic character was absolutely extraordinary. However, it was the networking and connections I’ve made through this past year that prove to be most significant.
I have a new favorite saying, for lack of better words; a reminder. Everyday I remind myself that only 3 things matter at this point in time right now. Only 3 things need to grow. The first is my character as mentioned in the first paragraph. The second is my muscles/health. Lastly is my bank account/wealth. For some of you, it may be things like family, or relationships, or even your education/business. I grouped a lot of these things in the category of character.
Throughout the year, character is created, destroyed, and rebuilt so many different times. Your education, your abilities and skills are much different now. You’ve grown into something more. I’ve grown so much since last year, the amount of knowledge I have acquired this past year is significant and vast. 2019 excites me because I know my character is growing, my education, relationships, and family is growing. I’m truly excited to see how much I can learn this year.
I always believed that health is wealth. As the saying goes, “You don’t see any fat eagles dominating the sky”. I absolutely love this quote because it’s the truth. Just the simple ability of being “able” is significant. Being able to do a pull up, or able to do a dip, a couple pushups, running a mile or 2 with relative ease. You feel better emotionally when you’re cable at any moment because your physically healthy. Exercise is the greatest single antidote for depression and anxiety. So not only are you physically feeling great, your mind is growing stronger and becoming healthier.
The last thing that needs to grow is your actual wealth. Wealth can be described in many different forms. Be it tangible items, your bank account, or just having more than one form of income. However you plan on growing your wealth this year, it is of vital importance that it grows because it’s the only way to move forward. I hope all of you have an excellent 2019.
